I'm not sure how your shell did Bastok, but mine frequently full clears or near full clears bastok, and the trend as it seems is the faster/more we kill, the more that seems to drop.

I suppose the fact that we tack Treasure Hunter 4 onto every mob we fight helps that as well. Even long ago before SE adjusted drop rates to account for the new job additions to the game so that drops would be evenly spread, I remember Wootz ores to be a fairly common drop. This was also before Aht Urghan came out and Woot Ores ended up being sold on Auction House for 10k as they seemingly had next to no value since Salvage had definitely not yet been released and Imperial Wootz Ingots had not been created.Kuraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15759410550440388625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3974394344589944161.post-1422179995352031692009-02-18T15:39:00.000-08:002009-02-18T15:39:00.000-08:00Kurai: The first couple of times we did Dynamis-B...Kurai: The first couple of times we did Dynamis-Bastok with me in the shell, we got almost no drops (maybe 1-2).

Take that as a side effect of that the number of drops (apparently) "normalized" around the time that the Salvage dupe bans came out.Starcadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09226367306835781483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3974394344589944161.post-23310364530493178412009-02-18T11:11:00.000-08:002009-02-18T11:11:00.000-08:00That's about the standard amount of Wootz ores tha...That's about the standard amount of Wootz ores that would drop during a Dynamis-Bastok run, my LS has consistently seen those numbers for ores everytime we've done Dynamis-Bastok. Considering the fact that the ore is only available from Dynamis, the drop rate does make some kind of sense.Kuraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15759410550440388625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3974394344589944161.post-33217719672589543652009-02-11T14:27:00.000-08:002009-02-11T14:27:00.000-08:00Pixi: As I said, I almost did, though, but couldn...Pixi: As I said, I almost did, though, but couldn't pull the trigger because I could not (as you assert) come up with a reason why I should. I just, from everything I've heard about Dynamis-Bastok, that many Wootz Ores is quite a haul.

Dynamis, yes... See what my brain rotting with these punks is doing to me?? :) Yes, I meant Dynamis-Bastok.Starcadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09226367306835781483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3974394344589944161.post-83424918471487803272009-02-11T12:56:00.000-08:002009-02-11T12:56:00.000-08:00"I very nearly blew the whistle on my Salvage LS a..."I very nearly blew the whistle on my Salvage LS a couple weeks ago, just after the Salvage-dupe bans. We ran Bastok, and must've gotten somewhere between six and eight Wootz Ores. By the time it got to about #5 and #6, I was suspicious, and openly stated as such. The only reason I didn't GM the mess is that I am not sure, end of the day, whether it is within statistical parameters for that number of ores to drop."

I assume you actually were referring to dynamis, and not salvage. In that case, I would say that your fears of duping were unfounded, because dynamis functions under different base principles from salvage. You do not need to be a member of any party/alliance to enter dyanmis. You must simply have an hourglass to trade to the trail markings. Every person in your ls could theoretically enter the zone without being a member of a party. Since the Salvage duping was based on breaking alliances, versus dynamis not even needing an alliance in the first place, I would say your ls members were doing nothing wrong. The just got lucky with drops.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12889492418234065544noreply@blogger.com
