It's now just a matter of when Square-Enix pulls the plug on the corpse.
Yes, the game still profits, but it is now clear that Final Fantasy XI has, once and for all, died.
How did I come to this conclusion?
Kimiko (from /panic Button) commented to me this morning by saying that we now apparently have our answer vis-a-vis whether Square-Enix really cares about Final Fantasy XI.
(JP Button has the details at http://www.jpbutton.com/?p=2122)
It's not "dying", given the statements made here. Final Fantasy XI is dead. It's just taking up space in the apartment, paying the rent off of its legacy and "estate" until Square Enix can get Rapture up and running.
Several interesting things seem to be coming of this:
1) The online division is still turning a profit of somewhere north of $50,000,000/year. I am somewhat surprised that it appears as if Square-Enix can do Final Fantasy XI on only about $20,000,000/year, it seems, but that isn't the most disturbing part.
2) The information on the supplementary report, starting on page 9, is the real news:
They are officially in development of the game which will completely REPLACE FFXI.
It's over. The fears of the player base, when discussions began leaking out of Square-Enix' new MMO, Rapture, are true. Rapture is replacing Final Fantasy XI.
Corinth of JP Button says that the scenario probably is that they will continue to support FFXI until Rapture's release.
Why?
Why would they even care, at this point? Better, why should Square-Enix care?
The game has deteriorated badly in the last 18 months. The attitudes of the player base, even more so. Why not just set a relatively short, but with some fore-notice, time frame to end it gracefully before the game essentially descends into an online riot that only the 2chan and 4chan fuckers are going to want to keep playing?
If it's clear that they no longer desire to keep FFXI going, it would be better to end it short-to-medium term, sending the Dev Team toward Rapture full-time, than to string it out, have the game become even more a shit-hole than many of the players have already made it, and then Square-Enix will get nobody from FFXI to try out Rapture.
Of course, that might not matter... It's clear, now, to Square-Enix that any future real market share and future profit stream is going to have to come outside of FFXI -- FFXI has run its course. They're clear that they have to, now, find different revenue streams because Final Fantasy XI is not going to grow any further from the 500,000 players it has had the last three years (which is down from previous totals).
Then pull the damned plug. Now, if plausible. But before your experience degrades that every one of your players will take one look at the words "New Massively Multiplayer Online Game from Square-Enix" and not throw the article away without one more word...
But I am not as optimistic as Elmer: The game officially died when they decided to state to their investors that there was not only a game to replace it in development, but that they admitted that FFXI had run its course in the MMO marketplace.

hmmm i dont understand why you keep babbling about pulling the plug on FFXI. Just leave it already if you cant stand it as it is lol (and no, you dont have to say things like "omg if you want me to leave that badly, thats 1000$ cash!!! I'll still be a pain in your ass until the end of days omg this is my holy quest to ruin your playtime!!!!!" lolol) there are still 500k people playing. Thats half a million. Do you know how many people that is? And who cares how many WoW or any other MMO has. None of us ever did care about that lol so you dont have to make comparisons here.
FFXI is far from dead. It will still be on for many years to come lol.
But anyway, if you truly believe its dead, please dont cry D= It would make me laugh too hard and i might get a bellyache.
And if you happen to go try Rapture (I might), or any other MMO in the future, you might find out that they all arent so different in terms of community. Might want to go shoot yourself now before your heart breaks over another game that doesnt fit your views.
Do you know how *few* people that is, given the game's history?
Final Fantasy XI has not grown in at least three years. Check that MMO Chart website I posted -- FFXI has dropped from it's peak of about 2006, and has completely stagnated at about 500,000 users the last three years, while most every other viable MMO out there has grown, including the explosive growth of WoW.
You are a delusional, fucked in the head, complete idiot if you honestly believe what you posted. The only reason they haven't already pulled the plug on FFXI is because the corpse and the "estate" is still making them money.
The statement that they are offically going to replace FFXI with what we already know as Rapture is the final blow -- the game is dead. Once the fucktards like you realize that, you're going to run amok so much worse that the game will degrade far further than you already have it.
Why would I recommend FFXI to anyone with people like you on it? People like you have succeeded in killing FFXI and turning it, largely, into a fantastical version of Second Life with no real rules or anything.
If you want me to leave that badly, then I want my money back.
I speciffically said that no one, Ill repeat, NO ONE on FFXI gives a shit about how many ppl are on other games. You still made the comparison as if it mattered.
Dear God, Aph, you are an idiot.
If a company does not care to make or keep track of a competitive product in the marketplace, the company has no place in that market. (which see much of the American automakers)
If you are so fucking dense as to not understand how bad it is for Square-Enix to finally say, "You know what? This game's not going to grow anymore and is clearly non-competitive with the other games of its genre. We're pulling our resources out of FFXI and into Rapture...", then I can't help you.
If you can't understand that the game is stagnating, losing players, and getting more and more non-competitive in the MMO market, then please spare me the bother of softball beatdowns that I continually have to do to your sorry, uneducated ass and get off my blog.
The information is out there. This game has not grown in three years. It probably won't, now.
Thank cheaters like your sorry ass for that fact.
FFXI will still live for years lol Wait and see. Then you can eat back your pitiful words.
There's only two ways that can happen now. Either Square-Enix scuttles Rapture, or the game basically lives off its legacy (as I said, pays the rent on the apartment, even though it is a dead body at this point, through it's "estate"...). They've admitted they have to move on -- and, when they did, the game died, officially.
You want to deny that? Not my problem.
The only reason to keep any game, be it WoW, LineAge or whatever the fuck, "plugged in" is because they still make money. moron lol
And I don't expect that to go too much longer with people like you around. I see the gaming experience degrading by the day. Who's going to want to stick around with people like you around? Serious question.
There is no reason to reccommand FFXI to anyonoe now. The game is outdated. We all know that. I myself dont reccommand it to any new potential player. Game is too old now.
It wouldn't be if shit-heads like you didn't pollute it so much that Square-Enix was put in the position not to give a damn anymore. Maybe there'd be more players if the entire game weren't exposed as one big violation of its Terms of Service.
"If you want me to leave that badly, then I want my money back."
Im pretty sure nobody gives a fuck whether you stay or leave lol But by all means, go try and get your money back from SE.
Why? They're not the fucking problem! YOU ARE!
you're right, why should people keep playing a game they enjoy?
MADNESS!
Refreshwhore: Unless they're cheating, me-first punks: Why would they enjoy FFXI? You tell me.
Its truly amazing how you always come up with a reply to everything only for the sake of contradicting people. Truly astounding. If you're like that IRL, I'd hate to be in your shoes. Must be really lonely. Do you so enjoy being angry at the world all the time? Might want to ask yourself what do you live for.
PS: the only reason I keep posting here, btw, is because each and every one of your posts make me laugh.
Q_Q more emo kid...
Oh wait, you're just emo and not even a kid. Grow the fuck up and get over this game that you supposedly hate yet are obsessed with.
We'll still be playing in years and you'll be hiding in your mother's basement from anyone who calls you out on it.
You post no valid arguments. You say FFXI "died" because you simply don't enjoy it. Why don't you look at an MMO that truly died? Star Wars Galaxies. That game died, then proceeded to crash and burn. FFXI has 500,000 people still playing. That's hardly considered "dead." There are newer games with less people playing. Everquest II doesn't even have that many. LOTRO doesn't have anywhere close. All you seem to care about is its numbers compared to WoW and Lineage II. Nevermind all the other pay-to-play MMOs, right?
Just because YOU can't make money doesn't mean everyone else is in the same boat as you. I myself never participated in any cheats and haven't botted, or received any money or gear from HNM linkshells. It's truly sad that you lump people who are truly better than you and better geared than you (which is basically everyone. I've seen your DRG and I'm not even on your server haha) as a "cheater." How old are you, truly?
Furthermore, unlike a lot of FFXI who agree that the game is stagnate and hasn't moved forward in years, all you do is piss and moan about it that it's "dead." Yes, it's dying, but it's far from dead. All MMO's have their time to shine. Everquest had its time to shine, same with FFXI. Now, WoW is shining as the top played MMO in the world. I don't see how FFXI is "dead" because it's not the top played MMO in the world.
Seriously, if ALL you do is bitch about FFXI, don't play. It's that simple. If you hate the game THAT much, then just quit. You'd be doing your server a favor by doing so. The end game community (and that includes dynamis. Don't kid yourelf into thinking "endgame" means HNM only) would truly be happy to be rid of your gimp ass.
... OMG NOWAI FFXI IZ DYING!?
Like this is news to most anyone who plays? It's dying, not dead; dead means there's no life left, no one is left on the servers... Last I checked, there's still a few hundred thousand active accounts with at least 3000 simultaneous logins onto ONE server, out of 32. So yeah, dead. Congratulations, Starcade, you're proving yourself to be even more of an idiot.
Oh, and by the way, Asura sez hai2u Besieged winning streak. Guess when it started? When you left.
kataryna-cerb:
You post no valid arguments. You say FFXI "died" because you simply don't enjoy it.
There's a difference. FFXI died because Square-Enix has declared it expendable in the name of its future project, Rapture. That it may or may not have died _to me_ is a separate issue. But the game officially died the moment that Square-Enix made it corporate policy that it is replacing FFXI in the foreseeable future with a new project we know is at least a couple years along.
Why don't you look at an MMO that truly died? Star Wars Galaxies. That game died, then proceeded to crash and burn. FFXI has 500,000 people still playing. That's hardly considered "dead." There are newer games with less people playing.
And many of them are growing. Very soon, Final Fantasy XI will only be sixth in population in MMO's. (It's fifth now, and others are passing it by.)
When the company finally throws in the towel on prospective future growth, openly says it needs to find additional revenue streams outside FFXI, and openly states it is policy that a game is in the works to replace FFXI, then FFXI is _dead_. It's just being kept alive because the legacy and the "estate" pay the rent.
WoW and Lineage II are about the extent of MMO's right now. All the others have to try to keep up with that.
40. And, as I said before, the odds are against you on legitimacy. Maybe that's why my DRG is, to you, so damned weak. I don't play this game to make friends.
Let me bold what I said earlier to spell it out to you clearly, then:
When the company finally throws in the towel on prospective future growth, openly says it needs to find additional revenue streams outside FFXI, and openly states it is policy that a game is in the works to replace FFXI, then FFXI is _dead_. It's just being kept alive because the legacy and the "estate" pay the rent.
Read my latest as to why I stay in the game. And I spit on your virtual ass too.
Shawn: And note that most of your HNM environment got nailed by the bans. Perhaps when the cheaters and their supporters left, there went enough of the me-first asswipes that Asura finally could put together such a winning streak.
But I point to the bolded on the comment I just made above to state my case as to the death of FFXI.
Um... Starcade? Your reply to Katarzyna-Cerb's "FFXI is dying; it had its time to shine" comment, well... you do know you made that "FFXI is _dead_" in the same reply, right? So, like, the dude couldn't have seen that spiel when he posted. ^^;
aerroenu: I understand that, but I wanted to make the point more clearly. If the company making the game basically has decided that the game must be replaced, new revenue streams outside the game be found, _and_ basically publicly declares that the game has gone as far as it can, then the game has died.
Call it "brain death" if you want (Oh, by the by, where's the March update news???), but it's dead.
kataryna-cerb returns with another batch of nonsense:
Your argument makes absolutely no sense. I'll say it again: Your argument makes NO SENSE. Do you even know what the definition of "dead" means? It means "no longer alive." As I sit here, on my PC, I still have FFXI up and running. Therefore, it is not "dead" as you claim. You wouldn't be able to dedicate an entire blog to pissing and moaning because you just flat out suck and couldn't find anything constructive to do with your time in game other than bitch and whine about other people.
And that's why I bolded and reiterated the comment, aerroenu... Because of comments like this which completely miss the point.
The fact that the game still runs does not mean it's alive. In fact, if you really want to look at the numbers, FFXI died a couple years ago -- they just made it official with this declaration in their financial reports.
Again, I reiterate you to the boldfaced, above, that I answered you with last time...
You're jealous of people better than you. That's all it comes down to.
No, I'm angry because, frankly, especially in the American player-base, you couldn't 3 out of 100 75's who don't cheat their asses off.
Again, 3 out of 100. And I think most of the people who say they're clean -- lie. They lie, because the camaraderie is more important to them than fair play or anything of that ilk. You might as well, for all intents and purposes, consider FFXI another version of Second Life.
There are plenty of people who put in the effort to get shit accomplished without using cheats, hacks, dupes, or bots.
The odds are against it, me-dear. The odds are against it. Start reading about end-game before you spout such utter nonsense.
Windower is illegal and bannable. That's at least half the players right there. Claim-bots. Duping (in fact, it appears as if some of the areas supposedly fixed are still dupe-able (Source: LBR LM17 LBN)).
You just choose to point out the negative in a group of people and decide that everyone who participates in end game that isn't you is a cheater. Grow the fuck up. You're 40 fucking years old, and you act like a child.
And you act like an idiot if you believe there are that many legitimate players inside the United States.
If you ever decide that your server is sick and tired of your bullshit, and you make your way to Cerberus, be sure to let me know, and then I can point everyone to this neat little blog you have here. The cheating HNM LS's here won't want anything to do with you cause you're too busy QQing, not to mention you flat out suck. The rest of us? Well, let's just say we don't like being grouped with people when we clearly aren't those people. Cheers to you, moron.
Here's a hint: When I can find an HNM LS I can trust, it'll be the first, on any of the servers. I don't want part of an environment certain to destroy what little integrity might be left in FFXI for me.
Seriously, I didn't think I'd need to post, but I finally had to.
You sir, are a radical. And not for the good of humanity either. Your opinions are fine, but you're running around preaching like you know all and everyone else is wrong.
First off, FFXI isn't Dying or DEAD. As Elmer has already pointed out, Everquest is still running long after EQ2 came out. Also, SE said themselves that as long as people subscribe to FFXI, they will support it with updates and new content. So clearly, FFXI isn't going anywhere for a long time.
Second, not every end-gamer "cheats". Pleanty don't and have great fun in this game. You've also been on two servers? How can you speak for all the rest? Yes, a large portion of truly hard-core people got banned and you know what, I'm glad they did. But the rest of us are not all bad
You seem to take EVERYTHING far too seriously. You transfered because your server lost beseiged? You complain because you lose a campaign? There are far greater concerns in this game, let alone life to truly let yourself get down. If you are really concerned about the tiny shit that doesn't matter, then all I can say is I truly pity you and wish you the best in life. Lord knows you'll need it.
hawkhellfire: You damn right I'm a radical. It's about all I have left.
The only thing, as far as most society goes, that is good for humankind is those who agree with everyone else. Once you get a second different thought into play, it gets harder to keep everyone in line. That's why anyone who doesn't march in lock-step with the party line gets marginalized.
We aren't talking about EQ vs. EQII here. We are talking about a Square-Enix which has already said that they no longer view FFXI as a growable game, that they must look for revenue streams beyond FFXI, and that they eventually intend to replace it (with, we believe, Rapture).
Have you been reading a lot of the forums on end-game? Taking a look at all the Windower pix all over the blogosphere?? Have you talked to some of these people who basically say no one follows the ToS???
No, I transferred because our server didn't give a fuck about anything but themselves, and made an absolute embarrassment of themselves in the FFXI community as a result. (Even magnified by the amount of players banned in the first wave on January 22.)
I complain because you have a bunch of players who don't give a shit about anything but themselves and being "leet"... They don't care if the Candy is gone or the Allied Forces lose areas... It's almost as if I should be fighting them when the Mamool Ja come in, because they're on the side of the Mamool Ja!!
And, as far as the "best in life", that ain't possible.
Coming from a server who had no one get hit with the recent ban stick (Sylph) I have to say your views are way to extreme. You point out this article, from jpbutton, yet it doesnt seem like you read all of it.
If you read Elmers breakdown, specifically, he says it doesn't mean FFXI will be shut down. Only that it will no longer be SE's premiere MMO. It's funny cause even HE brings up the comparison of EQ and EQII.
And yes, numbers have not grown, ok we give you that. But think about this. In 2006, how many RMT were there across the servers? Now, the number of subscribers is the same now, but the RMT are far less. Which would mean, there was actually a growth of real players, as opposed to RMT.
And in your examples, a growth would mean the game is NOT dead.
As of the article YOU linked to, it also goes on to say that numbers are down due to the economy and the exchange rates.
I don't know you, so I can't say whether or not you are a gimp player, or a good player. Hell, according to you, chances are YOU'RE a cheater too. Since everyone lies. I know I've never cheated, I've never even used windower. I kick people from my LS if I know they have violated the ToS, hell I won't even let them have access to the LS website if they have. But of course, you think I'm right there with everyone else and cheating. Everyone but you of course, right?
Look, we get it, FFXI has hurt you, in one way or another. And some servers really abused the ToS, and they (in my opinion) got what they deserved. But I still enjoy this game. My friends play, my brother plays, we help each other, and have fun. Cause after all, games are made to have fun.
WoW is thriving, cause ANYONE can pick it up and play it. It's easy. it's casual. FFXI was not designed to be a casual game. It is not made for the majority. But it continues to breathe, because there are still (believe it or not) play the game because they enjoy it.
The point of my writing this was to show you, that people get different things out of this game. I'm really sorry your experience has been a bad one. It's a shame you haven't been exposed to good honest people that only play to have fun.
Skyloki: For the record, I did delete one of the comments, because it appeared as an absolute duplicate of the posted comment. If that wasn't the case, resend the other one which is not the posted comment.

Then why, in the same report, does SE basically say that now is the time, and not when Rapture comes out, to find new online revenue streams outside FFXI? On top of that, then why does Square-Enix openly admit that FFXI has pretty much gone to its limit as far as player growth is concerned?
I read the same article you did, and don't take it quite that optimistically. If you choose to do so, prepare to be disappointed -- for once Square-Enix puts more of their time and energy to Rapture, the FFXI experience will become so degraded that they'll lose enough players that FFXI could not continue even if Square-Enix wanted it to.
And yes, numbers have not grown, ok we give you that. But think about this. In 2006, how many RMT were there across the servers? Now, the number of subscribers is the same now, but the RMT are far less. Which would mean, there was actually a growth of real players, as opposed to RMT.
I disagree -- they're just catching them sooner (by their own statements, like at FanFest 2008). In fact, would that not mean that there are just as many RMT's, if not more, since each one has to count a separate "person"?
I don't know you, so I can't say whether or not you are a gimp player, or a good player. Hell, according to you, chances are YOU'RE a cheater too. Since everyone lies. To all of your statements in this paragraph, I state that the odds are against legitimate play - this is why I'm pissed at the cheaters. The amount of cheating is so rampant among the 75's that it raises that very question about me!!
And, as I said to the other commenter: It feels like I'm the only legitimate 75 left in Vana'diel. The odds are against being that many more...
By definition, most of the frauds consider me gimp because it's all about the mega-gear, baby... And the ends justify the means...
Look, we get it, FFXI has hurt you, in one way or another. And some servers really abused the ToS, and they (in my opinion) got what they deserved. But I still enjoy this game. My friends play, my brother plays, we help each other, and have fun. Cause after all, games are made to have fun.
The players did that, sir. The game has been compromised due to their conduct, and I don't believe that nearly enough people got what was coming to them. I figure that was the first round of bannings. Should expect another... A few days now?
The thing is: I don't think most of these children can have fun unless they're Monty Haul-ed and handed everything on a silver platter.
Starcade... you assumed in your reply to my comment that I actually gave two shits about the HNM shells. Hey, guess what? I don't. And likely for the same reasons you're posting all this crap. Can't stand the rampant cheating, drama and general bullshit that surrounds a vast majority of endgame. And so you know, I don't think that 3 of 100 75s are legit; I think that about 15/100 75s are legit, and 0/100 "endgamers" (the super hardcore ones) are legit. And I'm one of the 15/100 that are COMPLETELY legit.
I guess I'll just post to join the crowd of people that have said the same thing. If it pains you so much to see that Vana'diel has turned into a cheater's paradise, then leave. Your deal about how you don't want to leave it to the cheaters is a rationalization and a lie; you really don't care less about them. See yourself as a Crusader for the Holy Light of Legitmacy all you want... the people who cheat don't give a damn, and a large part of the people who are legit don't either.
Not saying that you don't have a right to blog, nor a right to bitch, but you don't have the right to expect people to give a damn about your opinion. Be as vitriolic and angry about it as you want, it's funny to watch someone bitch and piss and moan so much... about a game.
Major error, noticed after I hit send. Let's try that again:
Shawn, with all due respect, because you make my point for me:
I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone else:
The only reason I am still on FFXI today is because leaving the game is what all the cheaters and all the punk kids want from me and from all the people who demand a fair gaming experience.
I am here to spite them and to spit at them. Hell, in the present situation, if I openly could, I'd destroy FFXI as a favor to Square-Enix at this point, if they're so unwilling to enforce the rules.
The game is a mere shadow of even what it could be, because you can't do anything anymore without these me-first dickheads cheating their way to victory and then spitting in your face for trying to play fair. (And you essentially state that openly with your statement above, though I don't believe the legitimate high-level percentage is even 15%.)
(But, even by your own numbers, you should know that when a 75 tells me they're legit, I can tell them that the odds are against it. Even by your numbers, those odds are about 11-2 against.)
Not saying that you don't have a right to blog, nor a right to bitch, but you don't have the right to expect people to give a damn about your opinion. Be as vitriolic and angry about it as you want, it's funny to watch someone bitch and piss and moan so much... about a game.
If it were simply about the game, I could see the argument -- except I see it as a mirror image of the types of little brats we see running around all day, with the same damned mentality. Ever go to an anime convention? Ever see how close one of those get to controlled chaos and how happy most of the venues are to see them leave?
Ever see these roaming gangs of punks who are more than willing to beat the crap out of some poor unsuspecting sod because they can??
What you see in FFXI is a mirror of what you see in real life. This is why the Japanese tend to abhor American players when and whereever possible -- we live in differing cultures.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with (and always have) your point that a *vast* majority of the people on the game are the "me-first" types, but not *all* of them. I guess my stance is just to let them have their game, their way, and when they actually mess with me or my friends... then they can get bitched at about it. Same thing goes with the cheats, I don't think they're nearly as rampant as you do, but they are most definitely a problem; and SE has acknowledged that. The only reason that they haven't done more about it (my opinion) is that they are very understaffed, and taking disciplinary actions against EVERY ToS violation would more than likely lead to a large majority of the playerbase being banned or suspended, with the people who were suspended canceling their accounts. If FFXI isn't dead now, a mass ban/suspension of EVERY SINGLE ToS violation would very easily kill it off. Note: I'm not defending the cheaters/selfish pricks, just saying that if SE were to take your tack and just ban 'em all... They'd be screwing the legit folks who actually give a damn about the game.
Yeah, I do give a damn about it, I just try not to be so... vocal about it. I wish SE could feasibly do the mass bans and whatnot without killing the game, though I do think more people would be more willing to play once the cheating's been addressed, and the reason behind the cheating (Windower plugins) were addressed.
And yes, for the record, I do use Windower, not the "official" one. Just don't use *any* of the plugins... for some reason the "official" one lags the hell out of my computer >_> If you consider that cheating, then feel free to say so.
um...for the record...if SE was planning to pull the plug of a game...why would they be having 3 new expansions set for release in Spring 09 and have a questionare on the playonline website to ask the players what they think would help make FF a better place and game and what they'd like to see in game.
Why then are they continuing to make new products for a high rating game? Why, are people moving from WoW to FFXI. Oh yea I said it, use to be people were moving from FF to WoW now they're moving back. I've been on WoW, it's nothing and I mean NOTHING compared to FF.
Furthermore, SE's not going to let anything with the name Final Fantasy die if they can help it. Putting out a new MMO is just a branch, they may be hoping to gain back people but everyone on FF still love to play and enjoy the game and the friendships. The fans won't let them kill their game.
Granted all of this is your opinion as this post is mine, as such; do not be rude to me, I am only stating my thoughts and believe as you did yours. I'm not attacking nor should you attack me or anyone else that's rude.
With that, I'll say a quick hello to everyone on Hades server ^^.
zerah:
um...for the record...if SE was planning to pull the plug of a game...why would they be having 3 new expansions set for release in Spring 09 and have a questionare on the playonline website to ask the players what they think would help make FF a better place and game and what they'd like to see in game.
Because I think they, only now, are coming to the realization that the game is no longer viable (financially (see their recent financial statements) or otherwise (see the January 22 bannings)). This is stuff I think they are just realizing how badly you (collective) are spitting all over the game.
I mean, if the first of those was to coincide with the March updates, where are the notes on the March updates? Today is the 23rd of February. That, given the amount of time they usually take, would put the March update at least two weeks behind schedule, if not more.
So, they've scheduled all this, but I begin to wonder, given what we've heard, if they've begun to reconsider. (And, if not, maybe they should...)
Are people moving from WoW to FFXI?? I seem to have heard most of the traffic is one-way -- the other direction!!
I respectfully disagree with you (especially given some of what I've read about this whole NASA thing), but can understand where you are coming from.
