Update, and we now have at least one answer to the long list...

Not much this week, though I did get NIN to 37 so I could get /NIN and Ni on my endgame stuff.

Sunday Dynamis:  Did not go.  Took a few days in Anaheim to give my roommate some peace.  (And, dear God, does she need it.  Tuesday is the moment of truth for many of the people my friend works with in California...)

Wednesday Dynamis:  Windurst.  Lost.  Someone agged the Death House and we never recovered.  Sac pull failed and I was the first one they ate trying to get back to where we could try for the win.

NIN 37, not much else.

===

As I say, on occasion, I will visit BG to do some scouting for stuff to send to the STF.

I go there today, and I find the following:

http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/75273-lm-17-banned-perma-hardcore-exp-qufim-island.html

Ladies and gentlemen, the hyper-XP Astral Flow system for SMN is illegal AND bannable, when it monopolizes a zone other players are trying to play!

The ruling was, effectively, zone monopolization.

For those who do not know, a common tactic to get characters to 75 very quickly is, once SMN is accessed, using Astral Flow and the Blood Pacts on massive groups of monsters pulled to one AoE area so that no one else has, really, any access to the mobs in those areas as long as the hyper-SMNs wish to power through at 15-20-moreK an hour.

Being a hardcore XPer to the point that no one else can play the zone has been a ban ever since "zone monopolization" was declared illegal.  So forgive me while I have negative amounts of sympathy for you.  Bye-bye...  Go join the RMT fucker scum, as far as I am concerned.

I think this was one that we had on the long list after the January 22 bannings.

Oh, and Sonomaa:  Perhaps Square-Enix never intended people to level _that_ quickly!  Perhaps things like Fields of Valor and Campaign are the only reasoned alternatives on the table.

Mistress Stowastiq:  It's not legal if it creates a monopolization situation.  This is why one can now easily say that the whole hyper-XP system which has been built to PL SMNs is illegal and bannable for zone monopolization.  If an action creates a monopolization situation, the action is not legal, even if the action, in and of itself, would be outside of that.

---

ROTFLMAO!!!!  I didn't even see this the first time...

If you read the posts on BluGartr, you see little "titles" for each poster (Melee Summoner, Salvage Bans, etc.).

The player who got his ass banned for zone monopolization -- his title??  Starcade.

*bow*

---

Actually, stabmegently, I think SMN burning was exactly what he got banned for.  He used that (and apparently other) means to monopolize the zone to the point the other players complained, and, by the rules, out came the banhammer.

To the banned:  The whole game is subject to Square-Enix' interpretation, and I'm glad to see they're cracking down on the SMN mega-burners.

One less fucktard in Vana'diel.  We hope...

Listen, bitch:

To be "good at FFXI", in your eyes, basically requires how many bannable violations???

Six?

Ten??

I feel insulted that you are even allowed an Internet connection, much less to play FFXI. You're a cheating turd who is committing theft from Square-Enix and has no regard for anyone in the game other than yourself, you sorry-assed pig.

So let's get that straight for #1.

#2: If I'm a failure, what does that make you? Or are you saying, essentially, that cheating is required to be successful at FFXI??

What you are doing is illegal and bannable, at minimum under zone monopolization. If I'm in your zone, bitch, and witness you doing this, YOU WILL BE GM'ED AND BANNED. Bye-bye.

You are, in their words, "denying my enjoyment of FFXI". Though I could say your presence IN FFXI does the same, it directly does it if your conduct monopolizes the mobs in zones in which I (or any other player) choose to play.

You are denying my right to choose where I play.

That's why your tactic is illegal, moron.

(Oh, and I like that punk-ass attempt at a rant against my Dynamis leader. He'll appreciate that.)

Your arguements are full of failure, you being a gimp and someone who lack basic motor function impedes my enjoyment of the game. Guess that means you can get banned as well eh? Learn to play the game. Btw yes, I bot, i summoner burn. You know what you can do about it? Jackshit

Taking emo to the next lvl man i see. SMN burns are fine, that guy did something else. This was even taken to SE and asked if it was ok. They answered with "it was not a planed way to exp, but we see why it has started"

So your hole emo post here is pure BS. Yes you can block people from doing this easy buy just pulling their mobs. But at the same time if you do this, then you can be banned for stoping people from exping.

In closing SMN burn is seen as OK by SE. You own the zone for around 10min as you pull mobs and its over. That is it. The zone repops in 16min as if nothing happened.

maybe next time i see you gather more then one mob i will just call a GM because i want to exp off them. nice try but ya fail on this rant.

First, zone monopolization.

Second, use of game mechanics in ways that Square-Enix did not intend.

You seem to forget one very simple point -- you can not deny other players access to enough mobs in the zone to make their presence in the zone meaningful. One could even go so far as to say botting HNM Kings is also a monopolization motif against other, legitimate players (should any legitimate players exist at all in that regard.

If there's no one else around to stop you, you then, essentially (though you have a de facto monopoly) would not be considered denying anyone else's enjoyment of the game. But if someone is trying to XP in Korroloka and you SMN-burn the mess, you are zone monopolizing, and that's why SMN-burn is illegal.

Moreover, though the person had a previous MPK violation warning on his record (yes, I read the person's account), he clearly was in violation of the zone monopolization rules since others were there to try to XP.

So your hole emo post here is pure BS. Yes you can block people from doing this easy buy just pulling their mobs. But at the same time if you do this, then you can be banned for stoping people from exping.Basically, you can pretty much be banned for just about anything the player-base tries to do. (Said it before, say it again: One of the reasons Square-Enix doesn't want anything to do with actually helping you with AV?)

In closing SMN burn is seen as OK by SE. You own the zone for around 10min as you pull mobs and its over. That is it. The zone repops in 16min as if nothing happened. That's zone monopolization. You _CAN'T_ "own the zone" -- for ANY length of time -- without being considered monopolizing game play and denying the right to enjoy by other players.

SMN burn is illegal. Q.E.D. It's zone monopolization.

maybe next time i see you gather more then one mob i will just call a GM because i want to exp off them. nice try but ya fail on this rant. You sure you wouldn't have a case?

OK, now that the half-intelligent comment is done, the asshole BK has returned. Let's see...

Your arguements are full of failure, you being a gimp and someone who lack basic motor function impedes my enjoyment of the game. Guess that means you can get banned as well eh? Learn to play the game. Btw yes, I bot, i summoner burn. You know what you can do about it? JackshitI always knew there was a reason that I read the likes of BluGartr.

Congratulations, Mikey... You've just been reported to the Special Task Force.

BK said...

Oh noes, too bad they cant do anything :D I'm scared.

BK: Son, maybe you should be.

I notice you're from New York. Made quite a reputation there 11 years ago. If they thought I was going to hurt a person I'd have laid down and died for, who the fuck are you to think you're going to get any better??

You have been reported to the Special Task Force. I do have to wonder if they've been paid off (I've actually somewhat considered the possibility that the websites which are RMT-spamming actually have Square-Enix behind them...).

The fact is that I am taking what measures I can so that scum like you are fucking eliminated from the game.

BK said...

You earned all 100k worth of your gear? Congrats, When i was a little nublet like you starting out as a whm i spent 3 months in West Sarutabaruta farming crawlers and bees for my Noble's tunic, which cost about 8m at the time, shit's not diffucult. Dont even get me started on your subjob or your complete lack of probably the 2 of the 4 best af pieces in the game period.

Starcade said...

Whee!! As expected, the little piglet has the point completely go over his head.

I wouldn't care, bluntly, if the entirety of my stuff is worth about 2 gil, biotch.

I _earned_ it -- you stole yours.

And you don't give a fuck either.

You don't seem to understand that I'm not willing to basically sacrifice my principles to have the opportunity to gain certain gear (which occurs _as a matter of definition_ in end-game, since you have a bunch of leeching, cheating fucktards such as yourself out there).

The only real concern I have is that I am beginning to wonder if Square-Enix is basically defrauding the legitimate players by allowing shitheads like you to continue to play the game.

BK said...

Explain to me how i stole my gear, lol, the point my dear boy, is that you are an idiot who should not play this game, even when i was a noob like you my gear didnt suck that bad, i knew what subjob was the right subjob and my subjob was properly leveled.

Even if I do "cheat" at least I know how to play the game correctly in terms of gearing, and skill.

Also, if you can give me a reason as to why you sub summoner on Red Mage, I will delete my character and send you a screen shot.

Starcade said...

BK spews forth more stupidity, and may really have put his foot in it this time:

Explain to me how i stole my gear, lol,Gladly. Your own words from earlier in this comment flamewar:

Btw yes, I bot, i summoner burn. Therefore, you cheat.

Therefore, you stole your gear.

You didn't earn it. You'll never _earn_ anything in this game.

Because you are an arrogant punk-assed bitch who believes in stealing everything he claims entitlement to.

Because you cheat, and you have admitted as such(!!), I can say you stole your gear. You have committed criminal and civil theft against the Square-Enix company for taking their proprietary product (since you own nothing of your character, it and all the gear on it are _theirs_ to give at _their SOLE_ discretion) by cheating.

Your own words convict you, and that's why I sent your name and e-mail addy to the Special Task Force, along with a copy of the relevant comment to this thread.

the point my dear boy, is that you are an idiot who should not play this game,And what did I say that punks like you would say to people like me in my very next blog post?

And I quote:

From the punks like you: "YOU GOT SO FUCKING GIMP GEAR, YOU AREN'T EVEN WORTHY TO BE ON MY GAME... YOU A WEAK TARD, ME LEET..."I said if I had a nickel for every time I heard that, my roommate could pay the rent for the rest of the summer.

I'm glad to see that you are upholding the proud tradition of elite players. *sarcasm*

It's people like you which make me truly hope that Rapture is Japan-only, or, at the least, US-excluded.

Back to more of your idiotic ranting:

even when i was a noob like you my gear didnt suck that bad,You wouldn't know, because you've been a cheating fucktard since you probably started playing the game. Therefore, your knowledge, "achievements" and (stolen) gear are IRRELEVANT.

Get off my fucking game and take your shit to WoW.

i knew what subjob was the right subjob and my subjob was properly leveled.*snore* *snore* *snore* And when you levelled it, how many violations of the Terms of Service did the little bitch from NY, NY do, sir?

Even if I do "cheat" at least I know how to play the game correctly in terms of gearing, and skill.NO YOU DON'T!!You arrogant shit, that's the point!! You INVALIDATE any such supposed "knowledge" because it involves cheating your ass off.

You are essentially saying (again, as I correctly predicted) that, to play this game, you have to cheat.

You LOST the privilege to say that through YOUR OWN conduct. You lost the privilege to have any authority on anything FFXI because you are an arrogant cheating idiot who has no business in Vana'diel.

Also, if you can give me a reason as to why you sub summoner on Red Mage, I will delete my character and send you a screen shot.Oh, you wouldn't do that. I wouldn't trust you to do it anyway.

BUT I _will_ answer your question:

Because I do not trust "people" like you, I don't even party as a Red Mage. I don't even really take the Red Mage outside of Al Zahbi.

Red Mage is basically Besieged-only to me, and has been for over 25 levels.

I heal, raise, and enfeeble the living crap out of any Besieged I'm in.

And, as for my SMN subjob??? SMN provides loads of MP to aid in the process. Especially when I used to play on the piece-of-shit Asura server, more MP, especially at lower (comparative) RDM levels, helped counterbalance that I would not have as many temporary items because there were too many arrogant pusses (similar to you) on Asura.

I do believe theres nothing more i can add here at this point. Successful troll has been successful.

Starcade said...

BK: Please leave Final Fantasy XI to us who actually wish to play the game and not the other players.

I see that picture of you, and all I can picture is some sorry punk who needed his face bashed in a few more times in high school.

Volkai | Alex said...

Starcade, you got trolled...

Anyways, the thing with SMN burn is basically that other players need to be in an area doing stuff -- and you need to be repeatedly taking mobs away from them, thereby preventing them from doing stuff -- to be monopolizing an area.

I think.

And rdm/smn isn't bad (<3 Auto-Refresh), but why not rdm/pld (again for auto-refresh mainly, but hey, RDM can use Shield Mastery too!) or rdm/sch? (/sch on RDM makes things a bit more complicated because you can't switch between black and white magic willy-nilly as you otherwise might, but it does provide a nice boost to your weakest magic skills as well as additional fast-cast and MP-cost reduction through Arts, as well as the same Conserve MP that /blm gives you.)

For clarity, I am a long-since retired Red Mage on my main character, and have used rdm/sch a bit on my second main, as I wanted rdm37 for a PLD soloing sub.
